1st ANNUAL SHELBY TOWNSHIP CONEY DOG EATING CONTEST!
On Saturday, June 18th from 12-3pm, we will be holding our Annual
“Shelby Township Kids Day”. This is a
special day in Shelby Township dedicated to children’s health, safety, and
environmental awareness in our community.
There will be hundreds of communities participating this year in this historic event, in which 3,000,000 children have benefited in
2,000 cities. This year will be special because we will be hosting the "1st Annual Shelby Township Coney Dog Eating Contest”.1st Annual Shelby Township Coney Dog Eating Contest”.
As a local business owner's we spend a lot of time both inside and outside our offices helping children. It is for this reason that we chose to sponsor this monumental event in Shelby Township. We will provide essential information to all attendees on crime prevention, child safety, and environmental issues. We also will provide free fingerprinting and "age progression" photos to all children who attend, courtesy of AIM Mail Centers and Shelby Township Police Department. The Shelby Township Fire Department plans to support the event by providing fire trucks, and fire safety tips.
We are inviting all of our friends and neighbors to join us at this event. We are inviting: State Senator Alan Sanborn, Supervisor Richard Stathakis, other dignitaries, County Executive Mark Hackel, and a representative from C and G Newspaper at 12:00 pm. There will be free health screenings, Bounce Houses, Face painting, Temporary Tattoos, Demonstrations from Gymnastics and Karate Studios, and we will distribute information on disease prevention and health promotion. There are planned special appearances by “McGruff” The Crime Dog and DTE’s “Louie The Lightning Bug”. We will also provide free balloons, snacks, and give-aways along with prize drawings every half- hour! The event will benefit Make-A-Wish Foundation of Michigan as part of this event to spotlight their involvement in Michigan.
We are inviting area businesses to get involved and “Help Us Help the Children.” There are many ways in which you can get involved, such as:
